La Equidad beat 3-1 at home by Fortaleza
Fortaleza celebrates its fifth consecutive victory in the Colombian first division
The match was played in front of an empty stadium due to the sanction imposed on “Asegurador”
Fortaleza de Zipaquirá reached 15 points in the Colombian first division, after beating La Equidad 3-1 at home, reaching its fifth consecutive victory in the championship. The match, valid for Date 7, was played at the Nemesio Camacho El Campín stadium in Bogotá, behind closed doors, due to the sanction against the Bogota team for the incidents that occurred on August 18 in Techo, in the match against América de Cali. Dairon Mosquera (15′), Johan Caballero (52′) and Wilmar Cruz (82′) scored the Fortaleza goals, while Stalin Motta (86′) discounted for the home team.
Those led by Nelson Flórez started winning early in the match, taking advantage of a rebound left by the goalkeeper Washington Ortega and that Mosquera took advantage with a strong shot to put the ball in the back of the net. After the initial blow, Fortaleza slowed down its rhythm and La Equidad took the reins of the match, generating several scoring chances that it could not materialize. However, those led by Alexis García failed to take advantage of the local dominance and the “fortalecer” team adjusted their lines to return to their attacking rhythm.
The complement was similar to the first half, with Fortaleza managing to increase the difference on the scoreboard with the goal of Caballero, who took advantage of an assist by Jeison Medina to beat Ortega again. Apparently, the match was already settled, but Motta put suspense on the match by discounting from a free kick and bringing La Equidad closer to the tie. However, the victory was sealed by Wilmar Cruz, who sentenced the game with a header, after a good pass from Javier Reina.
With this victory, Fortaleza reached 15 points, in fourth position, while the fall of La Equidad (8 units) to box 14 of the standings.
