2018 DFB-Pokal: Bayern Munich Secures Historic Treble
A Thrilling Match with a Dramatic Ending
The 2018 DFB-Pokal Final will go down in history as one of the most exciting and dramatic matches in the competition's history. Bayern Munich came out on top, defeating RB Leipzig 3-0 to secure their 19th DFB-Pokal title. The win also marked Bayern's historic treble, as they had already won the Bundesliga and Champions League titles earlier in the season.
A Dominant Performance
Bayern Munich dominated the match from the start, controlling possession and creating numerous scoring chances. Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 29th minute, heading home a cross from Thomas Müller. Leon Goretzka doubled Bayern's lead in the 63rd minute, finishing off a counterattack. Kingsley Coman sealed the victory in the 85th minute, tapping in from close range after a pass from Serge Gnabry.
RB Leipzig had their chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to find a way past Bayern's solid defense. Péter Gulácsi made a number of important saves for Leipzig, but it was not enough to prevent Bayern from securing the victory.
