Bard Wizard Multiclass 5e

WEB Wizard School of Divination or Chronurgy Magic 2 Bard College of Eloquence X

Introduction

The bard is a versatile class that can fill a variety of roles, from support to damage dealer. If you're looking to multiclass your bard, there are a few great options to consider. One option is to take two levels of wizard, either in the School of Divination or the School of Chronurgy. Both of these schools offer powerful spells and abilities that can greatly enhance your bard's capabilities. Another option is to take two levels of bard in the College of Eloquence. This college gives you access to new spells and abilities that can make you a more effective spellcaster and party leader.

Wizard Variant 1: School of Divination

The School of Divination is a great choice for bards who want to focus on support and control. The Portent feature allows you to roll two d20s and record the results, which you can then use to replace any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check made by you or your allies. This can be a huge advantage in combat, as it can help you to ensure that your allies succeed on their most important rolls and that your enemies fail on their most important rolls. The Alert feat also gives you a +5 bonus to initiative, ensuring that you can always go first in combat and get the upper hand on your enemies. Finally, the Counterspell feat allows you to counterspell any spell that you can see being cast, which can be a lifesaver against enemy spellcasters.

Wizard Variant 2: School of Chronurgy

The School of Chronurgy is a great choice for bards who want to focus on control and utility. The Chronal Shift feature allows you to swap the places of two creatures within 30 feet of you, which can be used to great effect in combat. For example, you can use it to swap the places of an ally who is in danger with an enemy who is not, or you can use it to swap the places of two enemies who are attacking each other. The Arcane Abeyance feature allows you to cast a spell and hold it in reserve, which you can then release later as a bonus action. This can be very useful for casting spells that have a long casting time, such as resurrection spells or summoning spells. Finally, the Temporal Shunt feature allows you to rewind time by 1d6 rounds, which can be used to undo a mistake or to give yourself a second chance at a particular encounter.

Bard Variant: College of Eloquence

The College of Eloquence is a great choice for bards who want to focus on spellcasting and party leadership. The Unsettling Words feature allows you to use your Inspiration to impose disadvantage on an enemy's attack roll, saving throw, or ability check. This can be very effective in combat, as it can help you to protect your allies from enemy attacks or to make sure that your enemies fail on their most important rolls. The Silver Tongue feature gives you advantage on all Charisma checks, which can be very helpful for persuading NPCs, negotiating with enemies, or performing other tasks that require social interaction. Finally, the Unfailing Inspiration feature allows you to give Inspiration to an ally even if they have already failed the roll, which can be very helpful in keeping your allies motivated and fighting at their best.
